What data we collect and why
We collect only what you give us in the website's forms:
- Contact form and trip enquiry form: your name, email address, telephone number, your message and the trip you are asking about.
- Coach hire form and school transport form: further details of the journey, such as the date, the route and the number of people.
- Mailing list form: your name and email address.
The legal basis is the performance of a contract, or steps taken before entering into one, when you ask for a quote or make a booking, and your consent, when you join the mailing list. You can withdraw your consent at any time.
Technical data
To protect the forms from automated submissions we temporarily keep a cryptographic marker of your IP address. We do not store the IP address itself and the marker cannot be linked to you personally. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in the website working without abuse.
How long we keep the data
Requests arriving through the forms are anonymised automatically 24 months after they are submitted: the name, email address, telephone number and the text of the message are removed, and only statistical information with no identity attached remains. Requests that have led to a booking are kept for as long as tax and travel legislation requires.
Who else sees your data
Requests are recorded in the office's customer management system so that they can be answered. In order to run a trip we share whatever details are necessary with the partners who operate it, for example hotels, ferry and airline companies and insurers. We do not sell or hand over data to third parties for advertising purposes.
The website is hosted with a provider inside the European Union. The contact page embeds a Google map, which is not loaded unless you choose it: either you give permission in the consent message, or you press «Load map» in the map's place for that visit. Once it is loaded, Google receives your IP address and details of your device and browser, and may process them outside the European Economic Area as well, under its own terms. We do not tell it which page you are reading, and the map cannot ask for access to your location, your camera or your microphone. If you do not load it, none of your details go to Google.
On every page there is an «Ask us» button. On its own it loads nothing and sends nothing anywhere. If you press it, a chat window opens which is loaded from the provider of the customer management system the office uses, from the address widgets.leadconnectorhq.com. From that moment the provider receives your IP address, details of your device and browser, and whatever you write in the conversation, and may process them outside the European Economic Area as well. If you do not press the button, none of your details go anywhere.
The conversation, and the contact details you give inside it, are stored in the office's customer management system like every other request, and the same retention period applies to them. Please do not write identity card, passport, health or payment card details in the conversation; we do not need them there and you will not be asked for them.
Your rights
You have the right of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability and objection, as well as the right to withdraw your consent. We answer within one month.
